Hotel: Delegates will stay at

Westin Hotel - 11 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa

All rooms must be reserved before May 9th 2010, mentioning the participation to the Global Parliamentarians’ Summit.

The Westin Hotel has extended its deadline to May 17th for reservations. Please check with the individual hotel listed on our registration form, mentioning the participation to the Global Parliamentarians’ Summit. If the individual hotel still has space after their listed cut-off dates, delegates will receive the rates which were negotiated for the Summit.

Incidental expenses, such as laundry and telephone calls are not included.

The Hotel accommodation rates negotiated for the Parliamentary Summit delegates are from June 8th (departing on the 12th), unless authorization by the organizers. Any additional nights will be subject to the hotels’ normal rate.

Breakfast is included in the hotel room charge. Lunch will be provided at the conference venue. Other activities will be listed on site at the Summit.

Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA). All delegates are responsible for their own individual accounts, unless otherwise agreed to by the organisers and the following Regional Population and Development Networks.

• Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development

• Inter-American Parliamentary Group on Population and Development (IAPG)

• European Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (EFP)

Parliamentarians attending the Summit are normally chosen through their regional network. Their costs and per-diems, where appropriate are also the responsibility of those networks to which they are members.

Observers

A limited number of observers will be invited to attend the International Parliamentarians’ Summit. Observers are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and other expenses, unless otherwise agreed to by the organisers.

Lunch will be provided on both days of the Summit and observers will also be invited to attend any official reception that might be held.

Observers include International and National Civil Society Organisations, including Indigenous Peoples’ Organisations involved with development, and specifically the Millennium Development Goals, (MDGs) being discussed; Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Ottawa whose parliamentarians may be attending the Summit.

Transportation:

Taxis can also be hired from the arrival hall. Transport back to the airport in a taxi should take about 20 minutes and costs around CAD 30. The hotel reception can provide you with more information on this matter. Airport shuttles are also available at the cost of CAD 15 (one way). More information is available at:

Participants are responsible for obtaining their visas, if one is required to enter Canada.

Flights tickets will be purchased based on individual/ regional needs and in collaboration with the organizers. Parliamentarians are asked to confirm their attendance as soon as possible.
